We just got word from Root Sounds today that they've posted an interview we did with them a while back. As it was following a gig where we all got free drinks, we accept no responsibility for anything inappropriate mentioned!
You can check out the interview by clicking here or clicking on the Roots Sounds North East logo. Hmm I guess the title of this update might give away the outcome of the latest Music Scene Investigation show... but we couldn't keep it quiet. It's an honour to be rated the week's top artist by such a knowledgable panel, which included guest panellist Tony Palmer, who has worked with artists such as The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa! The episode is available to watch here if you want to hear what the experts think of Zeerox. For our fans that don't have time to listen to the entire show, here are some quotes from the panel; "I really would like to see that group on stage they seem to me to have bags of potential." "I thought it was war of the Worlds v Bernard Herrmann." "I'm buying a ticket now for their next live gig." -Tony Palmer ----- "The energy from that track was just amazing" "It's raw, you can feel it, and you know everyone in that band is just going for it." "That synth was annoying" - (Just to clarify, no synth was used on this track) -Ian Husbands ----- "The verses reminded me a little bit of Pink Floyd" "What was lacking was these guys reaching their full potential" "This was the most interestingly structured, there was movement and motion in it." -Tom Chianti --- IMPORTANT NOTICE: As a Song Of The Week Artist, 'Sour Candy' will now be featured in MSI's monthly competition, MSI:HITLIST where the song will go head to head against other Song Of The Week Artists with the opportunity to win some great promotional opportunities. The show will be broadcast live on Wednesday April 10th 2013 at 5.30pm EST / 10.30pm BST on MSI:Radio at: http://msi.icweekly.net/msi-labs-radio/, so please tune in!!! :D Zeerox were played on BBC Radio Newcastle's Introducing show again. This time they opted to a play a song that'd been kept exclusive to live shows, 'Devil's Elbow' The DJ seemed a little bemused by the Spring 2113 release date, but good things come to those who wait! To hear the press release type you can follow this link to hear the song on air until this coming Saturday. Wow that was a surprise! Sorry for not giving any warning for this, but we were surprised ourselves to hear that we got a play on Off The Chart Radio's "New Unsigned Artists" show! To hear the show again click here. (We are on at around 1:37:30) The show also allows listeners to vote for their favourite track. If you wish (we'd really appreciate it!) you can vote here. A big thank you to everyone who votes for us, and also to Jay Adkins for having the good taste to play us ;) Alongside this then, Token and Diablo 66, Zeerox helped to celebrate Rocking Horse Rehearsal Rooms being open for two years. The feedback from the gig was positive, and some of the tracks from the gig and a post gig interview will feature on Bede Radio at some point (will post a link when this is confirmed.) Anyhow, a big thanks to everyone who showed up. UPDATE: You can now hear the audio from the gig here! 'Sour Candy' was featured on http://www.shockradio.co.uk/ at 11.15pm on Thursday the 7th of February. It all happened so suddenly that we're posting about it retrospectively! It was really cool to get a bump from the DJ though, and obviously he seemed to enjoy the album title. "Sour Candy" is the first promotional track from the debut Zeerox album. A demo version is available to listen to via the following SoundCloud link (or click on the picture to the left). https://soundcloud.com/zeerox/sour-candy We've just had word from the guys at Gashouse Radio that Zeerox will feature on their Gashouse Live show, February 18th from 10pm(GMT). Set reminders to tune in and give a thumbs up! A pre-mastered version of "Nightime" was played on BBC Newcastle tonight. Click on the BBC Newcastle logo to go to their website :)
